Study design: Treatment, Randomized, Open Label, Active Control, Parallel Assignment, Efficacy Study

Primary outcome: Time to defervescence

Secondary outcome: Reduction of CRP levels Reduction of leucocyte count

Criteria:

Inclusion Criteria:

- suspected grampositive infection

- fever > 38 C

Exclusion Criteria:

- Infections to be treated successfully by surgical procedures
