| Benefits: | | quite effective without the adverse effects of aspirin, naproxin etc.
because of the reported side effects of cox2 meds i take as little as possible to maintain a reletively comfortable exixtence |
| Side effects: | | only side effect was sore tummy on the odd occasion i took it without food |
| Comments: | | i take 1x 7.5 tablet every other day plus omega 3/6/9 and halibut liver oil caps and walk as much as possible. I only resort to 1 tablet daily if knee is really bad. 15mg daily and i am pain free but i am not prepared to risk the side effects on an otherwise healthy body |

| Side effects: | | Extremely Severe Side Effects | | | Treatment Info |
| Condition / reason: | | pain/arthritis |
| Dosage & duration: | | 1 tablet daily taken 1 tablet daily for the period of 2 months |
| Other conditions: | | none |
| Other drugs taken: | | none | | | Reported Results |
| Benefits: | | The medicine did help with the pain. |
| Side effects: | | Severe stomach issues. |
| Comments: | | I was prescribed this medication for tmj pain/arthritis. It helped more than aleve. The main problem this medication caused me was severe stomach issues. I was told that the stomach issues may subside after using for a few weeks, but it did not. I then tried taking 1/2 in the am and 1/2 in the pm to see if that would help, but sadly it didn't. My husband takes this medication also, and it works beautifully for him. He has no problems with it at all and it really helps his arthritis. |

| Effectiveness: | | Ineffective |

| Condition / reason: | | neck pain from car accident whiplash |
| Dosage & duration: | | 7.5mg tablet taken twice a day for the period of 1 week |
| Other conditions: | | None |
| Other drugs taken: | | None | | | Reported Results |
| Benefits: | | Hard to judge whether or not it was actually reducing the inflammation. I was taking it while undergoing physical therapy which seemed at times to exacerbate the pain from the whiplash. |
| Side effects: | | Even though I took Mobic as directed with food and/or milk, it made me extremely nauseous, which was more debilitating to me than the whiplash pain I was experiencing. I stopped taking it after 1 week and was immediately no longer experiencing nausea. |
| Comments: | | My dotor precribed this for treatment of whiplash follwing a car accident.I was doing physical therapy exercises twice a week and taking 1 Mobic pill, 2X daily with food. |

| Effectiveness: | | Moderately Effective |
| Side effects: | | Mild Side Effects | | | Treatment Info |
| Condition / reason: | | jaw/tooth pain |
| Dosage & duration: | | 15 MG taken 1/2 tablet 2 times daily for the period of Two weeks |
| Other conditions: | | None |
| Other drugs taken: | | None | | | Reported Results |
| Benefits: | | I did not feel that the original diagnosis was correct. I went to the doctor for tooth pain and he chose to treat me for TMJ of which I disagreed. As it turned out the diagnosis was incorrect as I eventually had the tooth pulled and all pain stopped. I did not complete the suggested treatment plan due to mild side effects listed below.
|
| Side effects: | | The most uncomfortable was tingling in my arms and legs. Otherwise it was the general feeling that foreign drugs were in my body as I do not usually take any kind of drugs. |
| Comments: | | The treatment being described as above. I consider it to be a mis-diagnosis and was quite disappointed that a Medical M.D. who not consider that I knew my own body well enough to know what was really wrong. Hence, I was diagnosised and prescribed incorrectly. Knowing this I did not follow through on the treatment plan. The only reason I decided to take the meds in the first place was because a nurse friend of mine also convinced me I should take the meds. They were both wrong. |

| Dosage & duration: | | 7.5MG taken 2 times daily for the period of currently for the past month |
| Other conditions: | | Anxiety, depression, high blood pressure |
| Other drugs taken: | | N/A | | | Reported Results |
| Benefits: | | I have been SUFFERING with pain almost every day of my life since I went to the dentist and my TMJ was diagnosed. I couldn't find anything to help me with the pain and found this medical condition debilitating. Insurance won't pay for specialists and/or treatments for this condition. My PCP gave me a prescription for this medication and it so far has really really helped the pain. I take it twice a day with a meal (Very important) and the pain level has decreased so much! I know everyone's condition effects them differently but after trying over the counter medications as well as Pain medication prescribed by my PCP this has been the most helpful so far. Thank you Meloxicam! |
| Side effects: | | I have experienced no side effects. I feel a little different at times - more relaxed than anything since it helps with my pain. No problems but you MUST eat when taking this medication I was told since ulcers are common if the medication is not taken correctly. |
| Comments: | | 1 7.5MG pill two times daily with a meal |

| Benefits: | | At least I tested it to see if i had Rhemutoid arth. before going through extensive testing.(I still have tto have test, but the doctor felt this might let us know which path to follow) |
| Side effects: | | It hurt my stomache. I followed the direction and took it with food. My symptoms of the muscle, joint pain, fatigue, etc. seemed to almost get worse. |
| Comments: | | Take two 7.5 tabs twice a day. Return to DR. in 2 1/2 weeks. If it works good we know if not we'll go from their. |

| Condition / reason: | | Plantar Faciatis |
| Dosage & duration: | | 15 mg taken once daily for the period of 3 weeks |
| Other conditions: | | Fibromyalgia |
| Other drugs taken: | | Lyrica and Lexapro | | | Reported Results |
| Benefits: | | It did help dull my foot pain. |
| Side effects: | | Urinary Track Infection, Back Pain, and Insomnia |
| Comments: | | During the second week, I noticed I felt bad and drained. By the beginning of the third week, I had a positive test for a urinary track infection. I was given Cipro. Three days into the Cipro, there was no change. I also was waking up at odd times of the night, which is odd because the Lyrica puts me into a deep sleep. I knew then that I was having side effects. I looked on this site and read the clinical studies that listed all my issues. |

| Condition / reason: | | back pain |
| Dosage & duration: | | 15 mg taken daily for the period of 1 week |
| Other conditions: | | none |
| Other drugs taken: | | Zanaflex at night | | | Reported Results |
| Benefits: | | No impact whatsoever. It was like I wasn't even taking anything. The OTC ibuprofen I was taking before my doctor appointment was more effective. |
| Side effects: | | None. Seriously, I could not even tell I had taken a drug, there were no impacts whatsover, either positive or negative. |
| Comments: | | Took 2 tablets (15 mg) total, once daily in the morning. Also took Zanaflex, but only at night. The Zanaflex helped - for about 3 hours. When I was just on the meloxicam, I was in terrible pain. The injury being treated was mid-back pain, caused by straining/overusing my back muscles in a ski competition. I have a 30 day prescription for meloxicam, but I'm calling the doctor tomorrow to ask for something different; this drug is totally pointless for me. |
