Dosage & duration:   7.5mg taken i daily for the period of 2 years to date
Other conditions:   none
Other drugs taken:   none

Reported Results
Benefits:   quite effective without the adverse effects of aspirin, naproxin etc. because of the reported side effects of cox2 meds i take as little as possible to maintain a reletively comfortable exixtence
Side effects:   only side effect was sore tummy on the odd occasion i took it without food
Comments:   i take 1x 7.5 tablet every other day plus omega 3/6/9 and halibut liver oil caps and walk as much as possible. I only resort to 1 tablet daily if knee is really bad. 15mg daily and i am pain free but i am not prepared to risk the side effects on an otherwise healthy body

Side effects:   Extremely Severe Side Effects

Treatment Info
Condition / reason:   pain/arthritis
Dosage & duration:   1 tablet daily taken 1 tablet daily for the period of 2 months
Other conditions:   none
Other drugs taken:   none

Reported Results
Benefits:   The medicine did help with the pain.
Side effects:   Severe stomach issues.
Comments:   I was prescribed this medication for tmj pain/arthritis. It helped more than aleve. The main problem this medication caused me was severe stomach issues. I was told that the stomach issues may subside after using for a few weeks, but it did not. I then tried taking 1/2 in the am and 1/2 in the pm to see if that would help, but sadly it didn't. My husband takes this medication also, and it works beautifully for him. He has no problems with it at all and it really helps his arthritis.

  Rating
Overall rating:
Effectiveness:   Ineffective
Side effects:   Moderate Side Effects

Treatment Info
Condition / reason:   neck pain from car accident whiplash
Dosage & duration:   7.5mg tablet taken twice a day for the period of 1 week
Other conditions:   None
Other drugs taken:   None

Reported Results
Benefits:   Hard to judge whether or not it was actually reducing the inflammation. I was taking it while undergoing physical therapy which seemed at times to exacerbate the pain from the whiplash.
Side effects:   Even though I took Mobic as directed with food and/or milk, it made me extremely nauseous, which was more debilitating to me than the whiplash pain I was experiencing. I stopped taking it after 1 week and was immediately no longer experiencing nausea.
Comments:   My dotor precribed this for treatment of whiplash follwing a car accident.I was doing physical therapy exercises twice a week and taking 1 Mobic pill, 2X daily with food.

Mobic review by 53 year old female patient

  Rating
Overall rating:
Effectiveness:   Moderately Effective
Side effects:   Mild Side Effects

Treatment Info
Condition / reason:   jaw/tooth pain
Dosage & duration:   15 MG taken 1/2 tablet 2 times daily for the period of Two weeks
Other conditions:   None
Other drugs taken:   None

Reported Results
Benefits:   I did not feel that the original diagnosis was correct. I went to the doctor for tooth pain and he chose to treat me for TMJ of which I disagreed. As it turned out the diagnosis was incorrect as I eventually had the tooth pulled and all pain stopped. I did not complete the suggested treatment plan due to mild side effects listed below.
Side effects:   The most uncomfortable was tingling in my arms and legs. Otherwise it was the general feeling that foreign drugs were in my body as I do not usually take any kind of drugs.
Comments:   The treatment being described as above. I consider it to be a mis-diagnosis and was quite disappointed that a Medical M.D. who not consider that I knew my own body well enough to know what was really wrong. Hence, I was diagnosised and prescribed incorrectly. Knowing this I did not follow through on the treatment plan. The only reason I decided to take the meds in the first place was because a nurse friend of mine also convinced me I should take the meds. They were both wrong.
