| Comments: | | The terbinafine was taken to eradicate nail fungus, which had aggressively attacked 2 toenails and was spreading to nearby digits. The terbinafine 250mg tablets were taken, 1 per day, for a little over 2 months. The first symptoms of the rash were noticed as slight, itchy redness on the skin around the chest and stomach area. These symptoms were noticed on 5/21, about 7 weeks into the treatment, but the condition not diagnosed as an allergic reaction until 6/10. By that time it had spread to 70% of the body, on the torso, back, and legs. The diagnosing physician suspected the terbinafine, and the patient immediately stopped taking the drug. Assessment of the original condition (toenail fungus) was that the terbinafine had already successfully resolved it. |

| Side effects: | | A long time ago, 10 years, when I was prescribed lamisil by my doctor, I had dark circles under my eyes and was tired lots of time. When I went back to teh doctor he told me he had to take me off the lamisil because it was harming my liver function. But by that time, the effect of teh medicine was enough for my nails to grow back after that. I think it was a change in climate, moving away from Astoria to a dryer climate of Portland. |
| Comments: | | When I saw the doctor 10 or so years ago, My nails were so bad, it was hard to look at them. The nails were thin and undernieth there was the infection of pus, so much that I had to clip the nails down and even pull one off; which wasnt difficult, because it was so weak, it just came right off. But after I took the lamisil, they grew back better, eventually. |

| Benefits: | | After having tried several over the counter treatments for this condition, this treatment was the only one that effectively treated the condition. The itching and discoloration began to dissipate after a few days and symptoms were completely gone after two weeks. |

| Comments: | | As recommended by my doctor I continued the treatment for two weeks after the symptoms had disappeared. The cream was applied liberally to affected areas twice a day. I would recommend this treatment to anyone with persistent fugal skin growth. |

| Benefits: | | I did not see a change in the condition of the toenail. Only about a quarter if the left great toenail was affected. After taking the drug for the 12 weeks, the physician recommended another 12 week course, however my insurance company would not cover the extended treatment and I could not afford the cost of Lamisil. Perhaps a positive effect would have been realized if I was able to continue the treatment |

| Benefits: | | not noticable, supposed to clear all yeast from body because I had been feeling bloated, kept getting yeast infections and when I had colonics the lady told me that I had an abundance of yeast. Makes sense cuz I drink a lot of beer and don't eat too healthy. |

| Benefits: | | Although it is essential to take the medication for the full 90 days, after one week I noticed that the skin on my affected foot was looking much better. I had years of tough, thick, dry, flaky skin on my heel and pads under my toes. As each week passed, this condition continued to improve. Almost from day one I did not experience any itchy toes or feet. At the end of the 90 days, I could see healthy nails growing up from the cuticle, although it will take several more months for the entire toe-nail on each affected toe to grow long enough that I can cut away the damaged nail. |
| Side effects: | | The first few days (maybe three)of taking the drug I was a bit headachy and then experienced some mild stomach upset. After that, I was fine with no further issues.
A positive side effect was that after the treatment was over I noticed that the skin on my legs was very smooth. Previously I had rough, scaly skin which I just thought was dry skin, though I could never rid myself of it. But I guess it was part of the whole problem because now the skin is beautiful. |

During the 90 days, I was told to take the drug once per day and to also use lamisil cream on my feet every day.
About mid-way through, the doctor ordered a test for my liver, which came out fine.
Once the treatment was complete, my doctor suggested that I take one pill every month and use the cream on my feet twice per week. |

Vertigo occurred after 12 weeks. It became so bad I had to stop the medication.
Apparently 1 in 10,000 people experience this side effect so it is rare.
Lose of appetite and change in taste buds. This was mild and not a problem.
Its the fingernail thinness that really bothers me. I thought my nails would go back to normal but they haven't. They are still paper thin and splitting every time I try to pick anything up with my nails. Its very irratating.
But my toenails look great.

| Comments: | | After failure of several topical treatment, this medicine was the only choice offered. Regrowth of 1/4 great toenail was observed after 4 weeks. At the end of the 12-week treatment, half of the toenail grew back to normal. The doctor advised stopping the treatment at the point. |

| Benefits: | | I received no benefit from the medication. My prescribing physician told me it would take a full six months of this medication taken daily for it to be effective. That's not going to work for me. |
| Side effects: | | Total loss of taste and rapidly diminishing sense of smell. Very bad taste in my mouth. Feels like I'm sucking on a dirty copper penny all the time. After one week of enduring the loss of my sense of taste and smell, I stopped taking the medication. It's only been 2 days and these two senses have not yet returned, but I'm hopeful they will eventually. |
| Comments: | | I contacted my pharmacist and she researched the Terbinafine I was taking and told me it could very well be what was causing this problem. Since I had no idea what else it could be, I stopped taking it on my own. I then contaced my physician and gave her the details and she agreed that stopping it would be wise at this point. We are hoping that this is what the problem is and that my sense of taste and smell will return. We just don't know when it will happen. Very unpleasant experience, I must say. |

| Side effects: | | after the 4th dose, I had blurred and double vision. I had to go and be evaluated by an opthalmologist, family practioner, and a neurologist since they thought my blurred vision was a result of something else. I was prescribed glasses, had to have extensive testing and FINALLY after 3-1/2 weeks, my normal vision return. I contacted the pharmacy, the drug manufacturer, the FDA and a toxicologist and none were able to tell me how long the side effects would last. I am grateful to have my sight back but this drug should not be on the market if even only 1& of the population can have visual disturbances...It was hell to not see clearly and have to submit to so many tests and be so dependent on others for getting around. DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICATION! |

| Comments: | | One pill was taken with a meal daily, at the same time every day, for seven days every other month. The terinbafine was used in conjunction with applying Nonyx nail gel twice a day. A thin coating of the nail gel was applied to the entire nail and underneath the nail wherever possible twice a day. The nails were filed down with an emery board on a weekly basis to scratch up the surface to better allow the nail gel to penetrate. The underneath of the nails were scraped clean as much as possible on a daily basis. By the end of the first month ingrown toenail pain was gone. By the end of the second month, all toenails were noticably less yellow. By the sixth month, toenails are more than half clear & white, with only the top halves needing to grow out and still showing some yellowness and thickness and curving growth. Blood tests were taken every other month to ensure no kidney damage occuring from the terbinafine. |

| Benefits: | | I just finished my 90 day course and am seeing great benefits. My toenails are finally growing out thin and clear. I didn't start to see any major changes in my toenails until around the two month mark. I told myself I would be one of the people who comes back to review the product because the positive reviews I read are what got me through those first few weeks when all of the negative side effects were flashing through my head. It has definitely been worth it to take the pills. I can't wait for a few more months to go by where my toenails will be completely be grown out and I will feel confident about going and getting the first pedicure of my life. Also very much looking forward to sandal season next year. |
| Side effects: | | For the first few days I definitely had some diarrhea but it wasn't that bad. Maybe some mild stomach cramping within that period too. But I ate some yogurt with it before I took it at bedtime which helped curb any intestinal issues. All of this went away within a week or two of taking it. I also experienced some cotton mouth feeling and that lasted pretty much the whole time. It wasn't too bad but noticeable. I never had any taste disturbances. |
