| Benefits: | | I've used 40mg Inderal for situational anxiety a few times per month over the past 6 years. I found it to be very effective when taken 30min to 1hr prior to public speaking, large social gatherings, dates, and other anxiety provoking situations. It really helps decrease signs of nervousness resulting from the fight-or-flight response, such as increased heart rate, sweaty palms, and dry mouth. |

| Benefits: | | The major benefit of taking this medication was a decrease in the signs and symptoms of anxiety that I experience when in social situations. It prevents the elevation in heart rate that I normally get, as well as preventing dry mouth, sweaty palms, etc. As a result, I am much more able to focus on the task at hand. |

| Benefits: | | The tremor is most noticable in my hands, with fatigue my head also becomes tremulous. Inderal is the most effective medication I have taken to control the tremor. Benzodiazipines were tried early on and were ineffective. |
| Side effects: | | I have not experienced any side effects from Inderal. At one time I was given a medication for another problem which had hypotension as a side effect. That drug and the blood pressure lowering effect of inderal caused a syncopal episode. |
| Comments: | | When I first noticed the tremor I was seen by a family practice physician who started me on valium to treat the problem. With the valium I was tremulous and sleepy. I saw a neurologist who diagnosed the problem and started me on a different benzodiazipine. It was also ineffective. I am a R.N. I did some research on my own and ask my family M.D. if I could stop the benzo. and try Inderal. He ordered it and it has been an effective treatment for many years. I only take it when the tremor interfers with activities. |
