Treatment Info
Condition / reason:   Acne
Dosage & duration:   applied once a day (dosage frequency: daily) for the period of approx 3 months
Other conditions:   none
Other drugs taken:   birth control ON 777

Reported Results
Benefits:   I started using Skinoren along with a treatment of benzoil peroxide and alpha hydroxy lotion as part of a regimen to attempt to clear up ongoing, stubborn adult acne. within about five or six days my skin started clearing up.
Side effects:   My skin was already accustomed to high-percentage AHA products, so any stinging scaling or irritation were minimal. After a few days I had no side effects.
Comments:   Nightly, I would put a small amount of Skinoren, Benzoil Peroxide and an AHA cream (with a 10% AHA)in the palm of my hand and combine, and apply to face nightly. The rest of my regimen included a very gentle face cleanser, and a mild and light moisturizer during the day along with an application of the 10% AHA lotion.

Finacea review by 38 year old female patient

Overall rating:
Effectiveness:   Highly Effective
Side effects:   Mild Side Effects

Treatment Info
Condition / reason:   Acne and red marks from acne
Dosage & duration:   15% Azelaic Acid (dosage frequency: applied to face once a day) for the period of Been using it for 8 months
Other conditions:   None
Other drugs taken:   OTC acne topicals (benzoyl peroxide and Derm A Gel)

Reported Results
Benefits:   It really helps keep my acne at bay - keeps pores clear and reduces frequency of inflamed pimples, reduces red marks from acne breakouts. It is less drying/irritating than most other acne topicals.
Side effects:   Slight itching for the first month or so.
Comments:   I was already pretty clear from going to an esthetician at an acne clinic, but I was just looking for an additional boost to the results I already had. I previously discovered that I could not use anything other than very mild OTC retinoids, as they tended to make my acne flare up. Finacea did not do this. The Finacea was a good addition to my skin care regimen and has decreased the frequency of inflamed pimples and the tiny pustules I sometimes get around my nose. Now I use Finacea in the morning, and Vivant's Derm A Gel in the evening, along with 5% benzoyl peroxide on my more acne prone areas (chin and jawline).
