| Benefits: | | This drug has done wonders to help me get the much needed rest I have needed. Before I started taking this drug, I spent many nights not receiving the rest I needed. I have not experienced any negative side effects of this drug. It works quickly, within half an hour and I have been able to stay asleep throughout the night. |

| Comments: | | Ambien CR is a basically effective treatment for sleeplessness, although I have experienced incidents where contrary to the ads I have woken up midway through the night, I have had a groggy, hard to wake up feeling the next day lasting for several hours. There have also been reports of sleep eating, walking, awake but asleep incidents that I personally have not experienced, although it can affect you differently each time you take it. |

| Benefits: | | both seem to work well but looking for something over the counter that helps sleeping so i dont have to take the prescription med. to sleep. it is too expensive. it also would take a hour or so for it to work. then if i woke up later i had to take another one to go back to sleep. so i am trying to find a good over the counter sleep medicine to take instead. |

| Side effects: | | I have to take the drup on an empty stomach. Very bad side effects if taken with alcohol. Taken alone, side effects were increased night eating and loss of memory after taking the medication. If you do not go to sleep immediately you may drive or do things without using good sense. |

| Benefits: | | I did go to sleep more easily. I'm not sure how effective the time release is, because I often would wake up 4-5 hours later. Sometimes I didn't take it to sleep, but upon waking at 3pm, would take one to go back to sleep. They say to not take unless you have 8 hours to sleep, but this is not the case with me. The cutoff time is 4-5 hours. |
| Side effects: | | I sometimes feel groggy the morning after. The one time I took it nightly for 3 weeks, I had been under a great deal of stress, and then jet lag (I travelled to Europe). In addition to the grogginess, I also just didn't feel good.Very hard to describe, but a bit rundown and not clear-headed. For occasional use, it is better than the alternative, though I'm not sure I believe the time-release is worth the cost. Next time I'll try the generic. |

If it's 2-3am, I will take one, and might be groggy in the morning, but I function better than if I couldn't go back to sleep. If it's after 3:20am, I haven't tried it yet, because I get up early. |

| Comments: | | I take this in an attempt to stay asleep like the drug promises. I rarely have trouble falling asleep. With Ambien CR, I fall asleep very quickly but still wake up most nights after 4 or 5 hours of sleeping. Therefore, the time release formula does not seem to work with me. In addition, this drug is unbelievably expensive. All in all, neither effective no priced within reason. I would not recommend. |
