Brain lesion does not seem to be a common side effect of azulfidine (sulfasalazine) but this drug can cause side effects related to the nervous system.
The rx info mentions a possible side effects of "transient lesions of the posterior spinal column", which is not the same but is also a central nervous system lesion.
You should discuss this with a neurologist.
