Coartem- artemether/lumefantrine, should it be co-prescribed or co-administered to the same patient?

I don't know enough about this for a definitive answer. My impression is that coartem and fansidar are not typically prescribed together as a common practice. That does not necessarily mean that they have negative interactions with one another -- it is more likely that the issue of their co-administration has not been studied much because these are relatively new drugs. If you are looking for a definitive answer, try contacting manufacturers of these drugs -- they may have data that are not in publications yet. The NGOs that treat a lot of malaria like Doctors w/o Borders may have some info as well.
