How long has your child been taking Miralax and what was the reason you started giving  him/her the dosage?

There may be emotional reasons for a a child developing sleeping problems resulting from irregular bowel movement.

Technically Miralax is only approved for adults, but many children end up taking it for years.

Here is an excellent write up http://www.boston.com/lifestyle/health/childinmind/2012/05/the_poop_wars_why_miralax_is_j.html

When my daughter was 4 or 5 she developed chronic constipation. After trying Miralax for a few weeks we decided to take her off and try to vary the diet.

We gave her lots of fruits and fruit juices especially bananas, apples, and berries.

We also mixed in prune juice with other juices like apple.

After finding the right balance she was fine.
