How long to use silvadene cream 1% after big toenail removed and burned?

Question

The doctor used an acid to prevent the nail from returning. The area on lower part of the nail bed is scabbed over.  Should I continue usung the silvadene cream covered with a bandaid during the day and leave it open at night?
