That would depend in part on the weight gain. The short answer is yes if it's necessary.
I always found it worse when my son gained a pound or two and I had to up the dose. At about 6 months we switched to prevacid solutab which disolves in their mouth. My son also had refusal to eat and trouble drinking from the bottle when he had trouble with reflux. The prevacid was the answer to my problem for both of my children. Without it we would have had major weight and sleeping issues. My daughter outgrew her reflux at 10 months and my son outgrew his reflux at 2 1/2.
