Preparation of codeine-resinate and chlorpheniramine-resinate sustained-release suspension and its pharmacokinetic evaluation in beagle dogs. [2007.06]
Using ion exchange resins (IERs) as carriers, a dual-drug sustained release suspension containing codeine, and chlorpheniramine had been prepared to elevate drug safety, effectiveness and conformance. The codeine resinate and chlorpheniramine resinate beads were prepared by a batch process and then impregnated with Polyethylene glycol 4000 (PEG 4000), respectively...

A case of probable codeine poisoning in a young infant after the use of a proprietary cough and cold medicine. [2004.08]
We report a case of probable poisoning with codeine phosphate in a 3-month-old infant, which was associated with excessive dosing and concomitant use of antihistamines... Improvements are needed in the prescribing information pertaining to the use of cough and cold formulas containing opioid or opioid-like antitussives among young children, and clear warnings should be included in drug inserts and formularies.

Abuse of "BRON": a Japanese OTC cough suppressant solution containing methylephedrine, codeine, caffeine and chlorpheniramine. [1991]
1.Thus, in the former group, methylephedrine was considered the major behavior modifying drug, while in the latter, it was thought to be codeine.

[The effects of constituents of an antitussive and expectorant preparation on physical dependence on and antitussive activity of dihydrocodeine] [1990.10]
The effects of constituents of an antitussive and expectorant preparation on physical dependence potential and antitussive activity of dihydrocodeine (DC) were studied. Rats were treated with DC, methylephedrine (ME), chlorpheniramine (CP), and caffeine (CA) singly or simultaneously admixed with food (DC 0.125, ME: 0.25, CP: 0.05, CA: 0.25 mg /g of food) for 7 days...

[The effects of noscapine and chlorpheniramine on physical dependence and antitussive activity of dihydrocodeine] [1988.06]
The effects of noscapine and chlorpheniramine on physical dependence liability and antitussive activity of dihydrocodeine, a narcotic antitussive, were studied. For developing physical dependence, male Sprague-Dawley rats were treated with dihydrocodeine (DC), noscapine (N), and chlorpheniramine (CP) singly or simultaneously admixed with food (drug-admixed food method (DAF): DC: 0.125, N: 0.25, CP: 0.05 mg/g of food, for 7 days) or were intermittently medicated for 3 days at one-hour intervals through an implanted intravenous cannula (infusion method: DC: 0.5-2, N: 1-4, CP: 0.2-0.8 mg/kg x 24 times/day)...
