Axsain (Capsaicin / Lidocaine Hydrochloride) - Indications and Dosage

INDICATIONS AND USAGES

Axsain is indicated for the temporary relief of neuralgia pain, including painful diabetic neuropathy (PDN) and postherpetic neuralgia (PHN), when used under the supervision of a physician. Axsain is particularly useful as adjunctive therapy for PDN and PHN patients experiencing incomplete pain relief despite taking oral antiepileptics or tricyclic antidepressants.

DIRECTIONS

Apply a thin film of Axsain to the affected area 2 to 4 times daily or as directed by your doctor, and gently rub in until fully absorbed. Applications fewer than 2 times a day may cause the burning sensation to persist longer and may not provide optimum pain relief. It is recommended that disposable plastic gloves be worn when applying Axsain in order to reduce the chance of transferring residual cream to eyes, mucous membranes or other areas of the body. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water immediately after applying Axsain.
